Trevor has been working as a counselling psychologist and psychotherapist with individual adults and couples for over 20 years, having completed his Master’s Degree in Counselling Psychology in 1992. He works with a wide range of psychological issues including depression, anxiety, stress, work related issues, bereavement, childhood trauma, obsessive compulsive disorders, emotional and relationship issues. Trevor uses an eclectic and integrative approach, adopting the therapeutic style that best suits the client. He is also experienced in the area of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT).

"I find that CBT can be a valuable way to help resolve psychological difficulties that we can be faced with as a result of life events, life’s stresses. This approach works particularly well with anxiety and stress, general life management, obsessive compulsive disorder and can be appropriate for dealing with anxiety, low mood and depression. However sometimes the work of therapy involves addressing emotional and life difficulties that have their origins in the past. In this case the work requires a journeying back through issues of childhood, of relationships, of loss. Resolution comes through facing fears and blocks and connecting with parts of yourself that you may have repressed and which have prevented you from living a fulfilled life.

In our first session we will work towards coming to an understanding of the difficulties you have been facing and look at what is the best way forward for us to take. From then on I will support you through what is a rewarding and life changing journey".

Trevor is a qualified supervisor (accredited with the IACP) and a registered psychologist with the Psychological Society of Ireland and has been supervising trainee and experienced therapists for over 15 years.
